Through My Eyes: Banana Watercolor Painting

Hello there! My name is Tahera, and I was 10 years old when I painted it. I love to paint, and I want to tell you all about one of my favorite pieces I’ve created—a watercolor painting of a banana. It might just be a piece of fruit to you, but to me, it’s a slice of my world, captured on paper with my brushes and colors.

Describing My Artwork

I chose a banana because it’s fun to eat and even more fun to look at! I noticed how the light made the yellow peel glow and the shadows made it look really 3D, and I wanted to try and make it look like that with my paints. I mixed yellows and greens to get the peel just right and added some brown where it started to get a little spotty.

I was Ten

Being ten is awesome because I get to play and create stuff. When I paint, I can make things look the way I feel about them, not just the way they are. I think that’s pretty cool, and I hope you can feel the fun I had when you look at my painting.

The day I made it

AI remember it was right after my birthday in November 2016. It was getting cold outside, so I stayed in and decided to paint something. That’s how the banana painting came to be! Every time I look at it, I remember that day.

Why a banana

Bananas are neat—not just to eat, but to look at. They have an interesting shape, not like other fruits. And when you peel them, they change shape and texture. I wanted to capture how the peel curled and how smooth the fruit looked inside.

My Watercolor Adventure

Watercolors are tricky but exciting. You have to be quick because the paint dries fast, and sometimes it mixes in ways you didn’t expect. I like that because it’s like a surprise each time I use them. Painting the banana was an adventure from start to finish!

What Art means to me

To me, art is like a game that never ends. There are no rules about what you can create. My banana might not look perfect, but it’s mine, and it’s how I saw it on that day in November. I think that’s what makes painting so special—it’s like keeping a diary, but with pictures instead of words.

This banana isn’t just a painting; it’s a part of my story. I hope it makes you smile and think about the simple things around you that could be special, too, if you just look at them in a new way.

What do you think about my banana painting? Do you ever stop to look at the little things and see something worth making a painting of? I’d love to hear about it, so please share your thoughts with me!
